The development model based on the principles of independence, national-moral values, justice and the rule of law plays an important role in the formation of liberal values in terms of the political and economic modernization of society. Despite facing various external interventions throughout the historical development trajectory, the Azerbaijani people managed to preserve their national identity and restored state independence at the end of the 20th century. In the post-independence stage, the Republic of Azerbaijan chose the path of sustainable economic development based on the principles of a free market economy, against this background, special importance was given to the expansion of fundamental, theoretical-methodological, pedagogical and applied research in various fields of science.

At the same time, consistent measures have been taken to train highly qualified scientific personnel, and functional integration between scientific research institutions and the education and production sectors has been promoted. The expansion of international scientific cooperation has also been an important component of this process.

In this regard, on the occasion of the declaration of 2025 as the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty” in the Republic of Azerbaijan and the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute of Geography named after academician Hasan Aliyev, the IV International Scientific and Practical Conference on the topic “Modern Problems of Geography: Integration of Science and Education” is planned to be held on November 5-6, 2025.
