International "Wikimedia Hackathon - 2023", held in Athens, Greece, May 19-21, Aida Aslanova, an employee of the Department of International and Public Relations of the Institute of Geography, head of the Wikipedia group, together with the administrator of the Azerbaijani-language Wikipedia Togrul Rahimli represented our country at the event.
Wikipedians and trainers from Germany, France, USA, Canada, Brazil, Portugal, Norway, Spain, Indonesia, Lithuania, Sweden and other countries took part in the event, which took place in the Technopolis of Greece. Participants received extensive training on the technical aspects of Wikimedia and working with programming tools to master future innovations.
Wikipedians received extensive theoretical and practical training on the principles of data processing and management using various JSON queries, and presentations of recently launched Wikipedia tools took place. Participants learned how to create, improve and update complex templates, modules and gadgets developed in different programming languages on Wikipedia and applied them in different sections of Wikipedia.
An excursion to the sights of Athens - historical areas, museums - was organized for the participants of the conference at the end of the event.
