Employees of the Institute of Geography named after academician H. Aliyev of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan - executive director, PhD, associate professor Zaur Imrani, leading researcher of the department of landscape science and landscape planning, PhD, associate professor Elina Kerimova and graduate student Department of Geography of Tourism and Recreation Aslan Babakhanov took part in a joint scientific seminar held in Tbilisi (Georgia), from September 25 to October 1.

The event was organized by the Department of Geography of Justus-Liebig-University in Giessen, under the coordination of the V. Bagrationi Institute of Geography, Tbilisi State University I. Javakhishvili and the Network of Environmental NGOs of the Caucasus on 2 topics - “Geodevelopment: multilateral scientific cooperation on the study of geoparks in the South Caucasus - analysis of the potential for socio-ecological development in peripheral regions” and “From theory to practice - multilateral scientific support for the Mukhuri Geopark initiative ( Georgia)".

Aslan Babakhanov spoke at the seminar “Digital Geoparks Project: Integration of Habitat, Culture, Sustainable Tourism and GIS.” The dissertation author's presentation was met with great interest by the participants.
