The scientific article, co-authored by Associate Professor Zaur Imrani, executive director of the Institute of Geography named after academician H. Aliyev and Sarkhan Jafarov, head teacher of the Guba branch of the State Pedagogical University, was published in the Croatian journal with a high impact factor “International Journal of Innovation and Economic Development”.
Issues of deepening social inequality, incompatibility of economic and social factors, inefficient use of resources given to us by nature, and ways to solve them are set out from the end of the twentieth century in the article “Economic-geographical model of sustainable development of production and education”.

In addition, the article explains the basic principles of ensuring sustainable development in independent Azerbaijan, as well as in countries with economies in transition, their models of production and education.
Further exploration of the strategic goals of the sustainable development model in manufacturing and education is necessary to ensure the connection of our education and economy with current research. From this point of view, the article by geographers was included in the list of the 25 most read scientific articles of the year in the European Union.
