Students of the Justus-Liebigs University in Giessen (Germany) Florian Behrens and Gülay Göktaş, who were doing an internship at the Institute of Geography named after Academician H.Aliyev of the MSE AR, visited the Samur-Yalama National Park as part of the cooperation between the institutions.
During the visit, accompanied by the executive director of the institute, associate professor Zaur Imrani and junior researcher of the Department of Demography and Geography of Population Beymkhanim Huseynova, the students got acquainted with the history of the Samur-Yalama National Park, the existing tourist destination, the high geotourism potential of the area and its tourist infrastructure. The students also received extensive information about the work that can be carried out in the park area in the future.
With the participation of the above-mentioned accompanying persons, the students also visited the Hirkan National Park, Khanbulantchay Reservoir, Ballebur Castle, Yanar-Bulag, Lankaran Historical and Geographical Museum and other areas of the Lankaran zone. During the excursion, the students were informed about the history and ecotourism potential of the areas.
