A geography atlas for students in grades 6-11, prepared by the Institute of Geography named after academician H.Aliyev of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has been published. In order to improve the quality of teaching in secondary schools of Azerbaijan, textbooks are regularly updated, enriched with information and periodically republished. In addition to textbooks used in geography lessons, it is also important to prepare additional materials, maps and reference books. These materials are the main source of information when studying certain topics.
It is important to reflect on the maps the socio-demographic, socio-political and economic processes taking place in most regions of the world, including Azerbaijan. Changes in political and political-administrative maps, updating of geographical names and progress in economic development are reflected in these materials, which help to make the educational process more effective.
The recently published geographic atlas has been developed qualitatively, its electronic database has been updated. Recent changes in the political and administrative map and economic development of Azerbaijan, as well as the revision of the boundaries of economic regions are also reflected in the atlas maps.
