Executive Director of the Institute of Geography named after acad. H. Aliyev of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, PhD, Assoc. Prof. Zaur Imrani took part in the international conference “From Theory to Applied Geography – GSG100”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Georgian Geographical Society, which was organized on November 6-8, 2024 by the Ivan Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and the Vakushti Bagrationi Institute of Geography.
The main goal of the event was to create an exchange of experience between Georgian and foreign scientists, ensure their integration into the international scientific community, and strengthen cooperation for the development of innovative areas by identifying priority areas of research in the field of geography. The international conference served to further strengthen scientific ties between world geographers, and the jury determined the winners of the "Best Poster" nomination and awarded them.
As one of the organizers of the conference from the Institute of Geography and the keynote speaker, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani spoke at the plenary session on the topic “Overview of joint research of the Geographical Societies of Azerbaijan and Georgia”.
