Executive Director of the Institute of Geography named after acad. H. Aliyev of the MSE AR, PhD, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani took part in the international conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Geographical Society of Georgia "From Theory to Applied Geography - GSG100", organized on November 6 - November 8, 2024 by Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (Georgia) and the Vakushti Bagrationi Institute of Geography (Georgia).

The main goal of the event was to create an exchange of experience between Georgian and foreign scientists, ensure their integration into the international scientific community, as well as strengthen cooperation for the development of innovative areas by identifying priority research in the field of geography.

The international conference, held in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Georgian Geographical Society, served to further strengthen scientific ties between world geographers, and the jury determined the winners of the "Best Poster" nomination and awarded them. As one of the organizers of the conference, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani spoke on behalf of the Institute of Geography as the main speaker (at the plenary session) on the topic “Overview of joint research of the Geographical Societies of Azerbaijan and Georgia”. Such participation is of great importance for the exchange of knowledge and experience, contributing to the strengthening of international academic cooperation.
