The meeting of the Academic Council was held chaired by Associate Professor Zaur Imrani, acting Director General of the Institute of Geography named after academician H. Aliyev of the MSEAR.   

The meeting discussed issues of accreditation, attendance of employees, appointment of reviewers of the book by Vugar Bandaliyev "Microtoponyms of Mountainous Shirvan" and made relevant decisions.

The members of the council decided to award the academic title of leading researcher to senior researcher of the Department of Geomorphology and Natural Risks Samira Abushova, who defended her dissertation and received a PhD in Geographical Sciences, and the academic title of senior researcher to researcher of the Department of Political and Economic Geography of Azerbaijan Nijat Imamverdiyev, who received a PhD in Geographical Sciences.

The issue of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Institute of Geography was considered. It was decided to hold a Round Table in the cities of Jalilabad and Lankaran in May of this year.

Then, by secret ballot, a unanimous decision was made to submit a petition to the HAC to award the academic title of professor to the chief researcher of the Department of Geomorphology and Natural Risks, Doctor of Geographical Sciences Stara Tarikhazar.
