A meeting was held between Professor of the Irkutsk State University of the Russian Federation Olga Lopatovskaya, who visited the Institute of Geography named after acad. H. Aliyev of the MSEAR, and Acting Director General of the Institute of Geography, PhD, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani.

The parties discussed issues of strengthening scientific ties between the Institute of Geography and the Faculty of Geography of the University, and exchanging experience in organizing joint conferences.

A preliminary agreement was reached at the meeting to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on scientific cooperation between the institutions.
