An event on the topic "An integral part of human rights: quality of life and human health" was held at the Institute of Geography named after Academician H. Aliyev of the MSEAR within the framework of the "Human Rights Month".

The chairman of the education department, PhD in Geography Museyib Yunusov introduced the participants to the topic of the day, and then gave the floor to the research fellows of the medical geography department Turana Huseynova and Aishan Mammadova.

Explaining the purpose of the event, the speakers noted that on June 18, 1998, the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev approved the "State Program on Human Rights", which became the first systemic and strategic document in the field of ensuring human rights and freedoms. The program envisaged both legislative reforms and the establishment of the ombudsman institution. Therefore, June 18 is considered the beginning of the main stage of state policy in the field of human rights protection in the country. According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated June 18, 2007, this day is annually celebrated in our country as Human Rights Day.Huseynova and A. Mamedova spoke about the quality of life and human health, which are the main indicators showing the level of development of modern society and the attitude of states to their citizens. The speakers gave extensive information about the main categories of human rights: civil, political, social, economic rights, economic development, social equality, environmental protection, environmental rights, which are part of human rights, etc.

Yunusov, scientific secretary, PhD, associate professor Saida Zeynalova, chairman of the trade union Kamran Ramazanli, head of the department, PhD Solmaz Rzayeva spoke about the importance of holding such events, drew attention to the importance of each person knowing their rights, protecting them, and promoting human rights in society.
