Rovshan Kerimov, leading researcher at the Institute of Geography named after Academician H. Aliyev of the AR MSE , PhD in Geography, took part in the project “Education in the field of measures to mitigate the consequences of climate change and adapt to them in Azerbaijan”.
This project, financed by the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, is being implemented by the Ecological Public Association “Ryuzgar”.
Within the framework of the project, R. Kerimov, together with the Director General of the Institute of Radiation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Professor Islam Mustafayev, met with stakeholders in the city of Ismayilli. The scientist, who spoke at the educational seminar with a report on the “Role of Using Alternative Energy Sources in Combating Climate Change,” spoke about the factors causing climate change, greenhouse gas emissions, the results of last year’s COP-29 conference in Baku, and the current situation in the country in connection with the transition to alternative energy.
At the end of his speech, R. Kerimov answered questions from representatives of various government agencies who took part in the seminar.
