A scientific session was organized at the Heydar Aliyev Modern Educational Complex as part of the "Mother Kura" project. Representatives from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Institute of Geography  named after acad. H. Aliyev of the MSE, as well as students and faculty from the complex, participated.

The event discussed the topic of "Tugai Forest Restoration and the Application of Artificial Intelligence in this Field."

The scientific session was attended by scientists and specialists from the Institute of Geography: Acting Director General, PhD, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani; Scientific Secretary, PhD, Associate Professor Saida Zeynalova; PhD, Samira Abushova; Junior Researcher Nazim Gerayli; Senior Laboratory Assistant Shams Imrani, and Vahid Farzaliyev, Head of the Forest Restoration Department of the Forest Development Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. They presented information on the ecological significance of tugai forests, modern approaches used in their restoration, and the importance of sustainable forest management.

The session emphasized that artificial intelligence technologies offer important opportunities for monitoring tugai forests, analyzing environmental indicators, and supporting scientifically based decision-making in restoration processes. Scientists shared best practices in this field and innovative algorithms that can be applied.
