An event entitled "The Contribution of Azerbaijani Women to Science" was held at the Institute of Geography of the ARMSE, organized by the Women's Council.
The event was attended by Institute of Geography staff, Member of Parliament Gunay Agamali, members of the Presidium of the Women's Council of the National Academy of Sciences, and others.
After the agenda was announced, Kamran Ramazanli, Chairman of the Institute's Trade Union, briefed the participants on the agenda items and then handed the floor over to Solmaz Rzayeva, Chairwoman of the Institute's Women's Council and Department Head.
Rzayeva presented a report on the topic of "The Contribution of Azerbaijani Women to Science." Calling Azerbaijani women tireless workers of the independent Azerbaijani state, the speaker drew attention to their role and status in society, as well as the value that the state and society place on women. Speaking about the achievements of Azerbaijani women in science, S. Rzayeva noted that the Institute of Geography, celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, will continue to build on creative initiatives to more effectively expand geographical research.
Then, the speaker spoke about the scientific work of female researchers at the Institute of Geography and their 80-year history.
Member of the Milli Majlis Gunay Aghamali, Deputy Chair of the Women's Council of the National Academy of Sciences Tubuhanim Gasimzade, council members Khanimzar Kerimova and Shabnam Hasanli, female scientists at the Institute of Geography Stara Tarikhazar and Elena Taghiyeva, and others spoke about the work of Azerbaijani women, their dedication, hard work, and achievements.
