The Regular Meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Geography Was Held Sep 11, 2026 | 10:09 / SCIENTIFIC ASSEMBLIES

On September 9, the regular meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Geography under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held. The meeting was chaired by Zaur Imrani, Acting Director of the Institute, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor.

The meeting discussed the issues included in the agenda of the Scientific Council, and the Council members were provided with detailed information on the agenda items.

One of the main issues discussed was labour discipline and attendance at the Institute. Zaur Imrani emphasized the importance of employees complying with working hours and warned that failure to comply with the requirements would result in a reprimand.

In addition, the appointment of a head of the Geomorphology and Paleogeography Laboratory was considered, and a decision was made to appoint Rashid Fataliyev, PhD in Geography and a leading researcher of the laboratory, as its head for a period of three months.

The meeting also included reports on the field research activities conducted by the Soil Fertility Laboratory, Soil Reclamation Laboratory, and Geographical Ecology Laboratory.

The heads of the laboratories provided information on the research activities carried out, the preliminary results obtained, and future areas of activity.

The members of the Scientific Council discussed the presented reports, emphasizing the scientific significance of the field research and noting the importance of the studies for future scientific research and practical applications.

The meeting concluded with discussions of other items on the agenda and the adoption of relevant decisions.
