December 6, at a meeting of the Academic Council of the Institute of Geography named after acad. H.Aliyev of ANAS, it was marked the 60th anniversary of PhD in geography Yusif Hadiyev, leading scientific employee of the Department of Climate and Climatology. On this occasion, academician Ramiz Mammadov congratulated Yusif Hadiyev on behalf of the collective, wishing him good health and success in his scientific work.

Then Samira Alekperova, Chairwoman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute of Geography, reported on the work done for the 2017. She noted that during the year 2017, the members of the Council of YSS participated in the scientific, cultural, educational and organizational work of various directions, published many articles, took part in various projects, and made reports at republican and international conferences, having achieved great success.

The chairwoman of the Council told about the organization of a number of workshops under the motto “We learn Azerbaijan” for schoolchildren and teachers of secondary schools in Baku. She stressed the importance of these workshops.

She said that it is very to demonstrate video films and photos about the unique nature of Azerbaijan, historical and cultural monuments, taken by specialists of our institute at different times, and analyze research results using geographic information systems.
