GIS training started at the Institute of Geography Oct 07, 2019 | 06:10 / EVENTS

Training on GIS (ArcGIS-3) begins with the joint organization of the Institute of Geography   and Azerbaijan Geographical Society. The training is conducting by Professor Ali Akbar Rasuli from the University of Sydney, Australian University and will last 2 weeks. 

The introductory speech was made by the Director of IG, acad. Ramiz Mammadov, who noted the importance of GIS technologies in the modern world. GIS has a leading position in the receipt and processing of information. Creating databases using GIS analysis and agricultural development can stimulate the growth of the share of the non-oil sector in the economy as a whole.

Prof. A.A. Rasuli spoke about the creation and significance of this system and noted that research using GIS requires well-trained specialists. In environmental monitoring, GIS analysis is needed to prevent natural disasters and identify threats.

This training involved teachers and researchers of IG of ANAS? Institute of Oil and Gas, Zoology, Geophysics and Geology, Republican Seismological Service, ASPU, BSU and National Aviation Academy.
