Head of the Department of Caspian Hydrometeorology of the Institute of Geography named after acad. H.A. Aliyev, Doctor of Geographical Sciences Said Safarov took part in a scientific conference on climate change in the Caspian Sea region in a virtual format.

At the event held under the auspices of the Coordination Committee for Hydrometeorology and Monitoring of Pollution of the Caspian Sea (CASPCOM) and the Interim Secretariat of the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Caspian Sea (Tehran Convention), S. Safarov made a presentation on "Modern changes in precipitation on the Absheron Peninsula". The scientist said that on the Absheron Peninsula, over the past 30 years, in autumn and winter, more precipitation fell in the seaports "Neft Dashlary" and "Chilov" than in other regions.

The conference will continue on 28 October.
