Employees of the Institute of Geography named after academician H.A.Aliyev of ANAS with participation of young scientists of Novatek, the largest natural gas producer in Russia, as well as Rustam Shagiyev, the rector of the Moscow Institute of Oil and Gas Business, held a meeting-seminar on the current state and development prospects, as well as on mud volcanoes, which are a rare miracle of nature.
General Director of the Institute, Doctor of Geographical Sciences Zakir Eminov greeted the guests and introduced the initiator of the event R.Shagiyev and young specialists of the Institute to the participants of the meeting. Announcing the purpose of the visit, the rector noted that Azerbaijan is a developed country with extensive experience in oil production, and praised the success of Azerbaijani oil workers.
Then, the General Director of the Institute Z. Eminov made a presentation on the role of oil in the economy of Azerbaijan and answered the questions of the seminar participants in detail. At
the end of the report, the rector of MNGBI presented books reflecting the scientific activity of Russian scientists to Z.Eminov.
Then the guests visited the Dashgil volcano in Gobustan region with the participation of employees of the Institute - Doctors of Philosophy in Geography, Associate Professors Elina Karimova, Sitara Tarikhazar, Irina Kuchinskaya, Samira Alakbarova and Ph.D. Sevinj Mamiyeva. Azerbaijani scientists acquainted the guests with local volcanoes and answered to their questions. Volcanoist E. Karimova made a presentation as a continuation of the seminar. Satisfied with the visit, the guests thanked the Azerbaijani specialists.
