Doctor of Geography Said Safarov, Head of the Department of Hydrometeorology of the Caspian Sea of the Institute of Geography named after Academician H.Aliyev, spoke on Real TV about the expectations of global warming.
Commenting on the forecast of the World Meteorological Organization that 2024 will be hot, the climatologist noted that climate change is associated with astronomical factors. However, naming anthropogenic factors as the main reason, S. Safarov predicted that an increase in the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere would have dangerous consequences. He also gave extensive information about the reasons for the decrease in precipitation and fresh water reserves, drought and floods, the effects of El Niño and La Niño, the North Atlantic Index, the impact of global warming on Azerbaijan, etc.
