The article “Detection of upwellings in the Caspian Sea using thermal processing of satellite images” by the head of the Department of Hydromeorology of the Caspian Sea of the Institute of Geography named after Academician G.Aliyev of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Doctor of Geography Said Safarov, senior researcher Doctor of Philosophy in geography Elnur Safarov and co-authored by Emil Bayramov, lecturer of the National Defense University of Kazakhstan, was published in the International Journal of Engineering and Geosciences, included in the Web of Science database. The article is devoted to the study of the phenomenon of upwelling (rise of the ocean) in the Caspian Sea using satellite data "Modis-Aqua". The areas of distribution of upwellings occurring in May-September are determined, and temperature gradients are calculated.
