At the invitation of the Organizing Committee “Rostki” ( Sprouts), Professor Zakir Eminov, the General Director of the Institute of Geography named after acad. H. Aliyev of the MSE AR, took part in the second major international forum "Sprouts: Russia and China - mutually beneficial cooperation", held in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan.

This forum, a new platform for the development of economic cooperation between the regions of Russia and the provinces of China, brought together a record number of participants - more than 10 thousand representatives from 36 countries.

The Azerbaijani scientist made a report on the topic of "Regional Features of the Urbanization Process in the Republic of Azerbaijan". The speaker provided extensive information on issues of urbanization in the regions of Azerbaijan, population growth, demographic indicators in economic regions, the population of agglomerations, cities and towns of Azerbaijan, the influence of natural and geographical conditions, and the availability of natural and water resources.

Eminov also spoke about the development of cities, resettlement of the population in the territories liberated from occupation, work on the implementation of the State Program for the Restoration of Karabakh, sustainable demographic and socio-cultural development of the region, as well as problems arising in agriculture due to the reduction of water in the rivers and its impact on the living conditions of the population.

During the forum, participants had the opportunity to become familiar with the main capabilities of Tatarstan in the field of education, IT innovations and industry.
