The Institute of Geography named after Academician H. Aliyev of the MSEAR held exams in the specialty and for passing the difference in the preparation of doctors of philosophy.

The exams were held with the participation of commissions consisting of the teaching staff headed by the General Director, Professor Zakir Eminov in the specialties of "Economic Geography", "Human Geography", "Historical Geography", "Geography of Tourism and Recreation" and Corresponding Member of ANAS Rauf Gardashov in the specialty of "Oceanology".

4 of the 7 doctoral students and dissertators who passed exams in four specialties received "excellent" grades and 3 received "good" grades.
