A meeting of the Academic Council was held under the chairmanship of the acting director of the Institute of Geography named after academician H. Aliyev of the MSEAR, PhD, associate professor Zaur Imrani. After Z. Imrani provided information about the issues on the agenda, their discussion began.

First of all, issues related to the accreditation of the Institute of Geography were considered, and the requirements for the employees of the Institute were brought to the attention of the participants.

Then the titles of the doctoral candidates' research topics were considered one by one. The titles of the nine doctoral candidates' topics were discussed individually, taking into account their opinions. During the discussion, their compliance with modern requirements was taken as a basis. The titles of the topics were approved after some changes.

The issue to submit for publication the monograph "Principles of Application of GIS Technologies and Remote Sensing Data of the Environment", written jointly by Doctors of Geographical Sciences Natavan Jafarova and Khasiyat Ismetova, was considered. The members of the council discussed and recommended the monograph for publication after N. Jafarova presented information about the book.
