The opening ceremony of the ProQuest Central academic database, organized by the State Agency for Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan as part of the Eurasian Universities Summit at the Heydar Aliyev Center, was attended by the Acting Director General of the Institute of Geography, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani, and the Scientific Secretary, Associate Professor Saida Zeynalova, along with directors and leading researchers from prestigious research institutes, universities, and libraries in Azerbaijan, as well as sales specialists from Clarivate.

 The main goal of the event was to make ProQuest Central more accessible to Azerbaijani researchers – a reliable platform for accessing scientific research conducted around the world.

Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education Ulkyar Sattarova who attended the opening of the event, noted that collaboration with the prestigious Clarivate company is developing at the academic level. Ulkar Sattarova highlighted scientific achievements in recent years and noted a significant increase in the number of high-quality scientific products. The number of articles in the Q1 and Q2 categories has increased from 65% over the past three years to 77% in 2025, making Azerbaijan a leader in the region in both quantity and quality.

Stephen Hawthorne, VP of Sales at Clarivate, discussed the company's strategy, its benefits, and its partners. Valentin Bogorov, Clarivate's Strategic Client Advisor, presented analytical reviews from recent years and various types of information resources in academic research and education. At the event, Iltifat Ibrahimov, Clarivate's Client Advisor, announced that in 2024 the partnership have expanded into a large-scale subscription, with all universities and research institutes in Azerbaijan gained access to the Web of Science platform.
