Scientists from the Caspian Sea Research Institute of Kazakhstan visited the Institute of Geography named after acad. H. Aliyev of the AR MSE. The purpose of the visit was to become acquainted with the Azerbaijani Institute of Geography and establish scientific cooperation in the study of the Caspian Sea.

After welcoming the guests, Acting Director General of the Institute of Geography, PhD in geography, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani, briefly described the Institute development, its research areas, scientists, projects, as well as the work done in the field of Caspian Sea studies, including research projects, expeditions, published articles, and more. Z. Imrani also informed his Kazakhstani colleagues about the participation and presentations of the Institute's scientists at the international conference on the Caspian Sea, recently held at the Baku Congress Center.

Serik Timirkhanov, Deputy Director for Scientific work at Kazakhstan's Caspian Sea Research Institute, noted that the Institute, established in October of this year to study the Caspian Sea, intends to collaborate with relevant institutes in all Caspian littoral countries. Noting that he is familiar with the activities and achievements of the Azerbaijan Institute of Geography in this field, the Kazakh representative emphasized the importance of signing the memorandum for further cooperation.

Following the exchange of views, the parties made proposals on the work that needs to be done to further develop scientific cooperation between the two institutes.
