Scientific Secretary of the Institute of Geography named after acad. H. Aliyev of the ARMSE, PhD, Associate Professor Saida Zeynalova and Nazim Gerayli, Junior Researcher in the Department of Geoinformatics and Cartography, participated in the second meeting of the Working Group on Cartography of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) member states, held in Baku on December 2-3, 2025.
Representatives of geodesy and cartography bodies from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, as well as Hungary and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) as observers, participated in the event.
During the meeting, detailed information was also provided on the large-scale restoration and construction work being carried out in the liberated Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions following the historic Victory. At the same time, guests were given a detailed presentation on the preparations, daily activities, and opportunities for regional cooperation within the framework of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which will be held in Baku in 2026.
Participants discussed the possibility of conducting interagency exchanges of experience with representatives of Turkic-speaking states and expanding cooperation opportunities in the effective use of geographic information.
