A young researcher from the Institute of Geography presented a paper at an international conference Feb 06, 2026 | 12:02 / CONFERENCES

        On February 4, Turana Huseynova, PhD in Geography, a research fellow at the “Tourism and Recreation Geography” Laboratory of the Institute of Geography of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, participated in the XI International Scientific-Practical Conference of Young Scientists “February Reports 2026: Creative Potential of Youth in Solving Aerospace Challenges,” organized by the National Aviation Academy.

     During the plenary session on “Problems of Climate Change and Aviation Meteorology,” which aimed to bring together young scientists and researchers for the exchange of new scientific ideas and experiences, as well as for the presentation of research results, Dr. Turana Huseynova delivered a presentation titled “The Impact of Natural and Climatic Factors on the Tourism Sector in the Gabala District.”

    The presentation included an assessment of the impact of glacier retreat and the reduction of permanent snow cover on tourism activities in Gabala District within the context of natural and climatic factors, identification of existing risks, and an analysis of the possibilities for adapting tourism to climate change.

     The conference was organized under the leadership of the Head of the Department of Aviation Meteorology at the National Aviation Academy, Professor Nazim Huseynov, DSc (Tech.), the department professor, DSc (Geography) Rza Mahmudov, and Senior Lecturer Turana Huseynova, PhD (Geography). The event included the presentation of papers and a scientific discussion.
