In the Institute of Geography, the new world order and Azerbaijan’s role were discussed Feb 06, 2026 | 04:02 / EVENTS

    An event was held at the Institute of Geography of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The event was opened with an introductory speech by the Acting Director of the Institute, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani.

     As a guest, Rizvan Huseynov, Director of the Caucasus History Center and political analyst, took part in the event. The historian delivered a presentation entitled  “Our Region and the Role of Azerbaijan in the Emerging New World Order” During the presentation, attention was drawn to the geopolitical changes taking place in the world, ongoing processes in the system of international relations, and the increasing strategic importance of the South Caucasus region. It was noted that Azerbaijan holds a significant political and economic position in the new world order, and that the country’s balanced foreign policy contributes to regional stability.

    Following the presentation, an exchange of views took place, questions were answered, and topical issues of interest to the participants were discussed. Subsequently, Chairman of the Institute’s Trade Union Organization Kamran Ramazanli spoke, expressing his gratitude to the historian for the informative and substantial presentation.

    It was also noted that the book “The Armenian Question in Azerbaijan and the Caucasus,” presented by Rizvan Huseynov in Russian and English, was introduced to the attention of the Institute’s staff. The book, based on more than 400 sources and many years of scholarly debate and discussion, was emphasized as a scientific response to Armenia’s territorial claims against Azerbaijan and attempts to appropriate historical and cultural heritage.
