A Seminar in English Was Held for Young Specialists at the Institute of Geography Feb 27, 2026 | 10:02 / SCIENTIFIC ASSEMBLIES

       At the Institute of Geography of ANAS, a seminar in English was organized to enhance the language proficiency of young specialists. The seminar was chaired by Ulviya Mammadova, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor, and researcher at the Soil Ecology Laboratory. She emphasized the importance of conducting seminars in English and highlighted the significance of integrating young scientists and doctoral students into the international scientific community.

During the seminar, young researchers from various laboratories and departments of the Institute delivered presentations on topical issues. Nigar Mehdiyeva, a researcher at the Laboratory of Geographical Ecology, presented a report entitled “Landscape Ecology and the Role of Geographical Processes in Environmental Assessment.” The presentation addressed issues related to the ecological assessment of landscapes and anthropogenic impacts.

     Aynura Ahmadova, a doctoral student of the Climatology Laboratory, delivered a presentation titled “Climate Change and Its Impact on the Environment,” drawing attention to the regional consequences of global climate change.

       Nurana Yuzbashova, a doctoral student of the Laboratory of Soil Genesis and Geography, presented the results of her research on “Mountain-Brown Soils: Geography of Distribution and Ecological Analysis (Azerbaijan).”

       Afag Rzayeva, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor and researcher at the Soil Ecology Laboratory, delivered a presentation entitled “Fragaria spp.: Biological Characteristics, Cultivation Technology, and Nutritional Value.” The report provided detailed information on the biological characteristics of strawberry species, cultivation technology, and their nutritional value.

      Aygun Ahmadova, a researcher at the Caspian Sea Geography Laboratory, presented a report on “Geography of the Caspian Sea: Spatial Features, Ecological Dynamics, and Regional Significance.”

     The seminar concluded with discussions of the presented reports and a Q&A session. At the end of the event, the importance of regularly organizing such seminars was emphasized.
