An event dedicated to March 8 – International Women’s Day was held at the Institute of Geography operating under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

    Opening the event with an introductory speech, the Acting Director of the Institute, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani sincerely congratulated the female employees of the institute on the occasion of the holiday. He noted the important role of Azerbaijani women in the development of society and emphasized that today women in our country achieve significant success in science, education, culture and other fields. Zaur Imrani particularly highlighted the contribution of the institute’s female employees to scientific activity, highly appreciated their work, and wished each of them strong health, happiness, and new achievements.

     Then the Chairman of the Institute’s Trade Union Organization, Kamran Ramazanli, in his speech noted that Azerbaijani women have always contributed to the development of society with their hard work, intellect and high moral values. He emphasized that women actively participate in the public life of the country, as well as in social, economic, political, scientific and cultural processes. Kamran Ramazanli highly appreciated the contribution of the institute’s female employees to scientific activity and the development of the team, sincerely congratulated them and wished them success in their future work.

    The Chairperson of the Institute’s Women’s Council, Candidate of Geographical Sciences Solmaz Rzayeva, also congratulated the women on the occasion of the holiday. She noted that the activity of women in Azerbaijani society is a source of pride and that the role of women in all spheres of public life in the country is increasing year by year. According to her, women bear great responsibility both in the family and in society and fulfill this mission with dignity.

   Then Mahbuba Fatullayeva, Deputy Chairperson of the territorial party organization of the Institute of Geography of the New Azerbaijan Party for the Yasamal district, congratulated the women on the occasion of International Women’s Day. She emphasized that throughout history Azerbaijani women have made a significant contribution to the development of society through their hard work, patriotism and high spiritual values, and wished them good health, family happiness and new achievements in their activities.

  At the end of the event, a group of female employees who actively participate in the social and scientific life of the institute were awarded Certificates of Honor on the occasion of March 8 – International Women’s Day.

  Finally, festive gifts were presented to the female employees of the institute at the initiative of the Trade Union Organization. The event concluded in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
