The article of M.A. Abduyev, leading researcher of the department of “Land Hydrology and Water Resources” in the Institute of Geography, entitled “Chemical denudation on mountain territories of Azerbaijan” has been published in the latest issue of Russian magazine “Water management of Russia”.
The assessment of chemical denudation intensity in the mountainous regions of Azerbaijan has been made considering the ion flow.
A correlation of ion flux module has been established with an average height of the pool and was revealed that the intensity of the chemical denudation is increasing towards the top of the Major and Minor Caucasus. And in the Talysh Mountain, conversely, it falls at higher elevation.
It was revealed that in the studied area the intensity of chemical denudation is 6 times higher than world average.
