Today, at 9.05, specialists of the Department of Geomorphology and Natural Risks of the Institute of Geography – PhDs Rafail Abdullayev and Stara Tarikhazer- visited the landslide area in Bail district.

They observed the landslide in the road that occurred over 1.1 km of the district Badamdar (400 19I 56 II N-north latitude; 490 48I 40II E-east longitude).

Specialists highlighted the vast landslide section 80-85 m in width, displaced by a distance of 100-120 m.

Researchers emphasized that the Badamdar- Bail road provided the movement of heavy equipment used in oil fields during the time of Tsarist Russia. Recent roadside activity has been a consequence of human impact.

Intensive development of the territory, non-observance of building codes, overloading of the landslide zone, errors in the construction of new roads led to a general imbalance and activation of the masses, prone to landslide in this zone.

The influence of natural factors (precipitation, groundwater level, etc.) is considered less likely.
