Students of secondary school No. 136 of Sabail district visited the Institute of Geography named after Academician H. Aliyev of MSEAR. Geography enthusiasts got acquainted with the scientific departments of the institute. They listened with interest to the information of the head of the department of medical geography, Doctor of Geographical Sciences Solmaz Rzayeva about the work done in this area.

Then the event continued in the assembly hall. Welcoming the guests, the general director, professor Zakir Eminov said that the scientists of the institute regularly meet with high school students, conduct discussions on topics of interest to them and strive to increase the interest of schoolchildren in geography. Introducing the students to the activities of the Institute, the Director General spoke about the research areas of the scientific institution, the work done and the successes achieved, innovations in geographical science, the luminaries of geographical science and geographers who led the Institute in different years, about the environment and its protection, as well as the importance of the prestigious COP29 event for our country held in Azerbaijan in November. In particular, he spoke about the significance of this event for the region, the issues discussed, climate change, the problems of the Caspian Sea, etc.

Head of the Department, PhD Mirnukh Ismayilov, research fellows Emil Jabrailov and Farida Talibova told the schoolchildren about the work they and their departments are doing.

Having thanked the management and Zakir Eminov on their behalf, school teachers Irada Gozalova and Irada Huseynova expressed their satisfaction with the meeting and expressed their desire to hold a similar event with other students of the school.
