The Institute’s research team visited Brussels as part of the project activities within the Horizon-2020 Project “Integrating History and Archives for Migrant Agencies” (ITHACA), where Institute of Geography is a partner organization, the three geographers – Rovshan Kerimov, Natavan Jafarova, and Rovshan Abbasov visited Brussels, Belgium from 29 th January to 2 nd February. At the event called the ITHACA Final Conference, they were involved in presentations and discussions about migration issues. Rovshan Kerimov, a member of the project management board shared his views on the environmental and climate driven migrations.

Natavan Jafarova and Rovshan Abbasov, who were actively involved in the process of data collection on environmental migration in Azerbaijan, attended the discussions as well. The documentaries on migration and migrant issues produced within the OPPORTUNITIES project, coordinated by the University of Wuppertal (Germany) were demonstrated in the event. It should be noted that the implementation period of ITHACA encompasses 2021-2025 years, where University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy) is a coordinating organization.
