Chairman of the AGO, head of the department of the Institute of Geography named after Academician H. Aliyev of MSEAR, Associate Professor Mirnukh Ismailov took part in the event "The Value of 20 Years" held on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Absheron National Park.

Participants of the presentation of the stand of the Absheron National Park called "The Value of 20 Years" viewed the exhibition of paintings and installations.

Speaking at the event, which was attended by ecologists, zoologists and geographers, M. Ismayilov spoke about the main elements of the biological diversity of the park, the geographical features of the area where it is located, its difference from other parks in Azerbaijan and its value for our country. The scientist emphasized that the Absheron National Park has a very sensitive landscape, that it is one of the parks most susceptible to fluctuations in the level of the Caspian Sea, and the importance of the existence of such a protected natural area on the Absheron Peninsula.

At the end of the event, M. Ismayilov, along with several specialists, was awarded a Commemorative Diploma for his contribution to the partnership in the field of environmental education and nature conservation, as well as to the activities of the Absheron National Park.

It should be noted that the geographer, speaking two years ago in the newspaper "Respublika" about the current state and future of the coastal cliffs of Absheron, particularly highlighted the problem of the destruction of our historical and cultural monuments in these territories as a result of inattention. The article states that the efforts of the relevant institutions are of decisive importance for preserving the unique ecosystem of Absheron, which has tourist significance, in its original state, taking it under state protection and granting it the status of a nature reserve.
