A meeting dedicated to Remembrance Day, titled "The Garden of the Motherland Blooms, and the Nightingale Sings in It," was held at the Institute of Geography named after acad.H. Aliyev of the MSE.
Meeting participants observed a moment of silence in memory of the Karabakh martyrs and then watched a short film on the topic.
Speaking about the importance of Remembrance Day, the acting Director General of the Institute, PhD, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani, recalled that today's meeting is already the third event organized by the Institute of Geography in honor of Remembrance Day.
He said that September 27th is imprinted in the memory of each of us not only as a date, but also as a symbol of our people's great love for the Motherland, martyrdom, and heroism. Today, we preserve the memory of our martyrs not only in our memories, but also in our daily work and in our vision for the future. A nation grows stronger as long as it remembers its heroes. Their life, sacrifice and devotion to the Motherland are an example for future generations.
The head of the institute also noted that our scientists, who were unable to visit the occupied lands for more than 30 years, now regularly visit these territories, conduct research, monitoring, and expand their research activities. Participating in the event, Milli Majlis Deputy Vasif Gafarov, Doctor of historical sciences, delivered a report on the topic "From the Past to the Future: A Look at History." He spoke about the difficult and glorious paths our people have traveled, the events that have left a mark on our memory, and emphasized the importance of this experience for future generations.
